Saint Walburga Amanita Vial Tapestry

By Cybermonk, posting initial draft at 12:35 p.m. Noon, Saturday, February 11, 2023

Contents:

  • Brown & Brown Are of Two Minds About this All-Purpose, Totally Non-Amanita Amanita Tapestry
  • The Ardent Centrists: Because the Middle Position Is Always Automatically Right and Sensible
  • Purpose of This Page (make fun of Brown & Brown (& Brown), and Non-Goals (entheogen scholarship)
    • The Main Page for the Tapestry; links to older pages that aren’t neutral like this page
  • See Also

I am creating this page as a neutral dedicated page, to serve as the link-to, go-to central starting place re: topic of the Tapestry.

Undecided: Whether to create a page for each art site or art work that I write about. That policy/ design strategy seems very practical for me, I need such link-destinations as I write.

Photo Credit: NOT Julie M. Brown, who assessed this art in a 500-page b&w photograph held up to the light and based on that assessment, decided not to travel and view art in person, as explained in their great book about why you have to travel and view art in person in order to correctly assess it.

Important point that I must remind/reiterate: this point, too, breaks Browns’ narrative/ logic in yet another distinct way:

Their fumbling of the morphology analysis in this “photograph held up to the light” was NOT due to low resolution cheapskate b/w version of Irvin’s book; it was due to ignorance of Amanita form, even though Heinrich Strange Fruit book 1994/1995 clearly shows serrated base.

1) Irvin 2008: “holds an Amanita mushroom”
2) Brown 2016: “holds a vial, not an Amanita mushroom”
3) Cybermonk 2020: “holds a vial that looks like Amanita”

I think this tapestry is the 2nd topic I covered at this site, after Hatsis’ book PMT. 3rd was the Eadwine initiation image.

As I remember Oct/Nov 2020 when I was creating this site instead of reading email asking me to review galley drafts of Muraresku’s book The Immortality Key, these are the 3 first focuses of the present website:

  1. Thomas Hatsis’ 2018 book Psychedelic Mystery Traditions.
  2. St. Walburga tapestry (Brown 2016+2019).
  3. Eadwine initiation image. John Lash 2008 / Cybermonk Nov. 2020.

Photo Credit: NOT Julie M. Brown, because she held the photograph up to the light (with a 500-page Irvin book attached to it; just like something out of a Dan Brown novel), took one look at its serrated base, and said in the 2016 book, this art is bunk and totally has nothing whatever to do with mushrooms, and the similarity with Amanita muscaria is purely fortuitous.
(Note to publisher: pls make this the most prominent art piece in the color plates, to sell our book asserting mushrooms in Christian art, thx)

“The held object in this tapestry has nothing whatever to do with mushrooms, and the similarity with Amanita muscaria is purely fortuitous.”

Or, I could link to the Explain-Away-o-Matic page, which has a link for each sentence from Panofsky: here you go, a link to entire section of a page dedicated to just this one sentence: https://egodeaththeory.wordpress.com/2023/02/04/the-panofsky-hatsis-explain-away-o-matic-mushroom-eliminator/#Panofsky-Letter-1-Sentence-1

I just found that the Gallery in WordPress authoring DOES show date, this first image (crop of held object in tapestry) that I uploaded here, November 10, 2020 — in between my Hatsis article & my article for Brown about compelling evidence & criteria of proof and for identifying mushroom imagery in Christian art.

Wordy draft page title of present page:
Saint Walburga Tapestry Holding Healing Ointment Vial That’s Made to Look Like Amanita

Brown & Brown Are of Two Minds About this All-Purpose, Totally Non-Amanita Amanita Tapestry

Spoilsport Brown has joined the Ardent Advocates after I disproved them in my Nov. 2020 article about Hatsis’ book Psychedelic Mystery Traditions, but that will not be allowed to stop the fun to be had at their expense.

They can’t seem to agree with themselves.

This tapestry is the best Amanita art; buy our book for its wonderful gallery (when promoting browns gallery).

This tapestry shows how smart Browns were to not travel to bunk & bogus pseudo-mushroom art.

This tapestry shows how smart Browns were to travel in-person to mushroom art.

This tapestry shows that Irvin & Rush are wrong about everything (when disparaging Irvin & Rush the Ardent Advocates & their entire galleries as a massive failure).

The Ardent Centrists: Because the Middle Position Is Always Automatically Right and Sensible

Brown is leader of the Ardent Centrists. So moderate! So reasonable & sensible!

Those radical earth-centrists vs. the radical sun-centrists — Brown advocates & occupies a position & explanatory model exactly halfway between Ptolemy & Copernicus.

Brown:
Hatsis’ framework of interpretation is too earth-centric; and
Irvin/Rush’s framework of interpretation is too sun-centric.

Brown: Hatsis = earth-centered; Irvin/Rush = sun centered. Our position is right & sensible, because it’s exactly halfway between these two overly extreme models.
Don’t be an Ardent Sun-Centrism Advocate.

Remember, the correct position on any spectrum is exactly 50.0000% in the middle.

Why buy Brown’s book/article? b/c excellent Mushroom Gallery eg LOOKIT THIS BEAUTY TAPESTRY!

ALSO buy it b/c he’ll set u striaght that this is a BUNK & BOGUS false hit just exactly like every single image Irvin & Rush provide.

The St. Walburga non-entheogenic Walburga tapestry non-Amanita Amanita image, which Brown places at the head of, pride of place for their brilliant gallery of entheogenic art, as an example of non-entheogenic art.

My critique of their serrated-base dismissal argument is the start of this website content within the … which fed into the Hatsis articles/pages at Oct./Nov. 2020, for-real start of this site.

Purpose of This Page (make fun of Brown & Brown (& Brown), and Non-goals (entheogen scholarship)

Purpose of this page: 1#1: Make fun of Brown. #2: (low priority): entheogen scholarship.

How low of a priority?

As low as John Rush’s 2nd edition of mushroom in Christian art book, where the #1 goal of his book is “smear the Big Bad church for totally eliminating mushrooms“.

Driving that narrative is much more important than any mere mushroom mission.

The very distant second goal for John Rush is to contribute evidence of mushrooms WITHIN the (real, normal, mainstream, kind-that-counts) Church.

Carl Ruck: “Be SURE to hasten to en-cage each new mushroom-in-Christendom find in the cage of framing it as “heretical” and “secret”, to SEPARATE-OUT mushrooms from “real” Church history, so that we can keep throwing people behind bars when the Supreme Court reads McKenna & Ruck and concludes:

“Wow, our history EXTREMELY lacks & hated & omitted all mushrooms — therefore, you Psilocybin users must go to prison for 20 years.”

Thanks, Rush & McKenna & Ruck, GOOD STRATEGY, way to defeat yourselves.

At least you got to smear the Church, self-aggrandizingly, which is the only thing that matters.

That’s the real motive & purpose of entheogen scholarship: to smear the Church — not to succeed at full repeal of Psilocybin Prohibition.

Gotta keep your priorities and mission-objectives straight!

All it cost you was false history and lying, claiming there are no mushrooms WITHIN “real” Christianity.

My oldest picture at this site and my oldest article (Hatsis PMT book) has my first critique of Brown Treatment of St. W tapestry:
WordPress stores images by month, it’s November 2020:

I just found exact date: November 10, 2020, this is the 2nd image I uploaded to this site:

These pages do already exist and focus on the Tapestry, but I need the present new page as a neutral place as the hub of my making fun of Browns’ Look at Our Beautiful Glorious Mushroom Art Gallery, eg Tapestry / Look what Dud, Bunk, Bogus Art & False Hits Irvin & Rush Provide – seems Brown & Brown are of two minds about this.

Welcome to the wonderful wack world of entheogen scholarship.
